Board Membership

We are presently seeking suitably qualified applicants to join the Board of Seniors Rights Service. The Board meets bi-monthly and provides guidance and oversight to the organisation and sets the strategic direction of Seniors Rights Service to ensure it continues to play a vital role in supporting some of the most vulnerable older people in our society.

About the Organisation

Seniors Rights Service is a community organisation dedicated to protecting and advancing the rights of older people, particularly vulnerable and disadvantaged groups.

We provide free and confidential telephone advice, aged care advocacy and support, legal advice and community information to seniors across New South Wales.

Funding
Seniors Rights Service is a community legal centre and is accredited by the National Association of Community Legal Centres.

Seniors Rights Service receives funding from:
• Older Person’s Advocacy Network (OPAN)
• NSW Fair Trading
• Legal Aid NSW
• NSW Department of Communities and Justice

Selection Criteria and Process

First Nations people are highly encouraged to apply.

All applicants must possess a passion for human rights and supporting some of the most vulnerable older people in our society.

Seniors Rights Service acknowledges the Traditional Owners of country throughout Australia and recognises their continuing connection to land, waters and community. We pay our respect to elders both past, present and emerging.

Applications will be reviewed by a selection panel and shortlisted for interviews to be held late August, for confirmation by Members at the Annual General Meeting in November.
