Aged care system navigators
Understanding the aged care system and the different services available for older people as they age, can be difficult and complex. There are many different options depending on different people’s needs and circumstances. Aged Care System Navigators can provide information, support and assistance to people who do not have the knowledge, skills or resources to understand the aged care system and what options are available to them. Navigators provide support and information to understand, choose and access appropriate age care services.
Seniors Rights Service currently has two Aged Care System Navigators.
Lisa Johnston based in Dubbo who works across the Orana Far West region 0468 449 086
Rob Ingram in Batemans Bay who covers the South Coast region 0482 168 088
Our Navigators service the communities in and around these two regions. The type of services that can be accessed depends on what is locally available and what level of care or support a person needs. There are home care services to assist you to stay at home and residential aged care services if you can no longer remain at home and need full time care. If you are caring for an older person at home, short term respite care may also be available.
